Our family stay at Mitsis Ramira Beach Hotel

This year, we decided to go on a family holiday on the island of Kos, Greece. We stayed at the all-inclusive Mitsis Ramira Beach Hotel ***** during our summer holidays, from 3 to 12 July. Here is the story of the few days we spent on this wonderful island with my partner and my two pups, Albert and Vincent.

As soon as we arrived, we were warmly welcomed and very quickly taken care of, less than 5 minutes in fact. At the time of booking, we had requested an early check-in which was respected, i.e. noon instead of 3pm. In the end, the check-in didn’t even take 10 minutes. Between greetings, big smiles and welcome gifts (drawing set and toys to build sandcastles), the reception team was very pleasant with our sons. The holidays were off to a good start!

« As we had small children with us, we were concerned about the lack of protective barriers around the pool and the staff immediately took care of the problem »

Indeed, we were delighted to see that we were upgraded to a Family Room with private pool. A dream come true! Pleasantly surprised by this change, we were excited to discover the accommodation that would be ours for several nights. The advantage of this room was that it was located in a separate building but very close to the pool and the children’s facilities, which was very convenient!

The lovely 45 sqm surface area was more than enough for our little family. While we slept in the master bedroom, our sons slept in the cots in the living room (which we had booked in advance), a partition separated the two rooms for privacy. As these added beds were cluttering up the living area, we asked for the sofa beds and coffee table to be removed so that the children would have more room to play. The staff responded to this request straight away. We would have appreciated a little more storage for our things but this did not detract from our experience.

Finally, we particularly loved our terrace and its private pool overlooking the gardens and the sea. Our son Vincent even learned to swim on his own using armbands! As we had small children with us, we were concerned about the lack of protective barriers around the pool and the staff immediately took care of the problem. It is fair to say that the hotel staff were really responsive and knew how to answer all our requests.

« The positive point of the restaurant is the presence of equipment for children: high chairs, adapted tableware, colouring books… »

Throughout our stay, we had the choice between à la carte restaurants and buffets with a wide variety of cuisines. In one of the restaurants, there is a very nice little children’s corner where they can play or watch television while waiting for the meal service. There are also some dishes available for the kids at the buffets, often pasta. I highly recommend you to go to the outside patio to eat with your family.

We did have a preference for the 2 à la carte restaurants, the service time is 15 to 30 minutes and the menus are diverse. I advise you to book in advance to be sure to have a place. The positive point of the restaurants is the presence of equipment for children: high chairs, adapted tableware, colouring books…

« Next to the children’s pool is a lovely kids’ club divided into two parts which offers a multitude of activities »

Next to the children’s pool is a lovely kids’ club divided into two parts – indoor and outdoor – which offers a multitude of activities. There were 3 or 4 activity leaders for about ten toddlers, sometimes accompanied by their parents, and plenty of toys and supplies to keep them entertained. We went there several times to diversify our days. In addition, the club was free, the access conditions were clear and it seemed to be safe.

Our family programme during our holiday included sunbathing by one of the resort’s 3 pools, walking in the extensive green park, swimming in the crystal-clear water of the beautiful beach in front of the Mitsis Ramira Beach Hotel and pedalling through the surrounding countryside on the hotel’s bike and trolley hire service.

Several group sports classes are offered free of charge throughout the day: yoga, Pilates, water gymnastics… In short, there is no room for boredom!

There is also a very practical shop to buy toys, sun cream and equipment for the kids.

This stay was exactly what we expected, it was exactly what our little family with 2 little ones needed. It was the first time we took an all-inclusive package since we had children and we didn’t regret our choice. We are so grateful for the room upgrade and the special treatment we received. It all made our holiday even more fantastic! Not to mention the responsive and lovely staff who responded quickly to all our requests. In conclusion, I would recommend the Mitsis Ramira Beach Hotel to families who want to relax but also have fun together.
